The Salon is fast approaching (this weekend!) and there are a couple of fun things to discuss regarding it. First, who is coming? We’ve got confirmations from Elizabeth, The Groom, Iain, Natarajan, Donna, and me. I hear that Brett is a “maybe”. Kim and Martial, lamentably, cannot make it; Kim is chained to her veterinary desk. Trey, any news from your neck of the woods?
Second, we must identify what pressing moral, ethical, intellectual, political, and/or artistic subjects should be up for discussion at the Salon. What’s on your mind? What crises of conscience have you recently encountered? Me, I’ve been putting some thought over the past few months into weighty topics like the meaning and direction of my life and consequent choices of career. I have no doubt that you all have experiences and opinions to share on your own version of that one. What else might we chew over as we partake of some divine culinary offerings?

Unfortunately, I just got word from Brett that he and Frances can’t make it this time.
I’m clean out of ideas for salon topics at the moment, but I like your idea, Kiri. We never seem to run out of fuel for conversation. :)
Also, if anyone has his or her heart set on there being meat as part of the meal, please make yourself known, as I am busily planning an all-veg menu!

I’d be there in spirit anyway, but even more so now! Woe that I must miss an all-veggie Santoro production! Have fun!

Thank you to all who came (and to those who could not be there, you were missed! Trey, we *loved* the flowers you sent!). We had so much great food and stimulating discussions that I think we’re all still recovering from food comas and sleep deprivation — in a good way! I hope to see a book list or two posted to the website. :)

Present friends dearly loved, absent friends dearly missed…a superb salon that once again made me wish it could have been about a month longer. Recipes for goat cheese tarte, tuscan white beans, and artichoke filling are now in the “Recipes” section of the site.

Concur! I’ve posted the salad and cheesecake recipes as well.
